The Jubilee Polka Band was established in 1988 and currently has five members consisting of musicians from the New Braunfels/San Antonio, Texas area. Current members are: Urban Kneupper—leader/accordion, Louis (Pinky) Davis, Dean Shilling, Robert Guenther, and Richard Naujoks. The band plays traditional European German/Czech music, polkas, waltzes, and some pop and country. Dress is German costume. The Jubilee Polka Band has performed at a number of major festivals and functions in and outside of the local area, including Wurstfest—New Braunfels, Fiesta—San Antonio, Night in Old San Antonio, San Antonio Stock Show German Beer Garden, German Heritage Park—San Antonio, Night in Old Fredericksburg and Oktoberfest—Fredericksburg, Texas, Aqua Fest—Austin, Texas, Saengerfest Park—Galveston, Texas, and Octoberfest—Ruidoso, New Mexico. The band has also performed at many conventions held in major hotels in San Antonio and various other functions with an ethnic theme.
