The Cloverleaf Orchestra celebrated 50 years of playing Polka and Waltz music on Sunday, September 15, 2002. None of the original musicians are with the group at this time, but all the current members have been performing together for many years. As close as we can tell, there have been about thirty-five different musicians in the past 55 years. The Cloverleaf Orchestra has played all over Texas—for festivals, dance clubs, weddings, private parties and public dances. The Cloverleaf Orchestra has performed at Wurstfest since its beginning in 1961, and has also performed a number of times for Night in Old New Braunfels at the Comal County Fair. In 1978 and 1980 the Cloverleaf Orchestra toured Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Liechtenstein. Each time about 100 people accompanied them on the tour. The Cloverleaf Orchestra joined the Polka Band Leaders of New Braunfels in 1995 and played in all 10 New Braunfels Polka Fests from 1996-2005. Over the years the musicians have enjoyed watching the dancers dance the polka and waltz and having a good time. Thank you Polka Music Fans for keeping us going.
