New Braunfels, Texas is fortunate to have many fine polka bands that perform throughout the year at festivals, public dances, anniversaries, weddings and parties, both in the Central Texas area and throughout the state. In May of 1995, the leaders of the various bands decided to create an organization called the Polka Band Leaders of New Braunfels. The official purpose of the organization is to promote and perpetuate the performance of German/Czech polka music.

In February 1996, the organization sponsored a two-day polka fest known as The New Braunfels Polka Fest. The organization sponsored a total of 10 of these events, with the last festival being held in February 2005. Due to the high cost of putting on these festivals, it was just no longer feasible to continue them. Several CDs were produced and the latest one is available on this web-site.

Each of the bands continues to perform. Click here for a combined schedule for the next few months. Before driving any great distance, always check with the bands or the event itself to be sure nothing has changed at the last minute.

We hope this information helps and that you will have the opportunity to come and enjoy the bands in person at one of their performances.
